Slatwall, also known as slotwall, is a system for organization. Slatwall are sheets that come in the same sizes as plywood, but can be cut down to any size. There are grooves which you run horizontally, and within those grooves you can hang different types of hardware that will hold your belongings up off the ground.
Slatwall is commonly used in garages, workshops, art studios, or anywhere where you want to use wall space to organize lots of different materials or gadgets. There are many advantages to slatwall, some of which we will list for you here.
Cost
Slatwall has an excellent price/quality ratio. It is not expensive, to buy or to install, and it’s a durable material that can hold a lot of weight.
Flexibility
With several finishes, and even the possibility of painting it, slatwall can be used to fit any design scheme. Also, the slats or slots which are most commonly three inches apart can be different distances apart as well to suit your particular needs.
Efficiency
The biggest advantage of slatwall is how it efficiently uses wall space for storage. What would otherwise be wasted space can be an efficient part of a whole storage system.
We heartily recommend slatwall in garages that are being redone. It is an excellent storage solution that is often overlooked and underappreciated. Slatwall can be installed anywhere on any type of wall material. In a garage, slatwall can store tools, sports equipment or even car parts!
